For my homemade sauce I used a can of crushed tomatoes (or two, depending on if I wanted to make it bigger for leftovers), a can od petite diced tomatoes, jarred italian spices, garlic (fresh or the frozen ones). Put it in a pot and your are done. Another option, combine it all in a small crock pot, put in the meatballs, then you can do homework with the kiddos, boil off the pasta and you are DONE!!
