Mario Kart Wii Cupcake Toppers
My son has asked for a Mario Kart Wii birthday party this year. As always, I like to try to make as much of my own party supplies as possible. I have already made the invitations and now I'm working on cupcake toppers.

Cupcake Topper Template
One of the easiest ways to incorperate your theme with cupcakes is to use cupcake toppers. I have made cupcake toppers in the past for a Phineas and Ferb birthday party. However, I didn't have a good template to cut out circles and now I do.
Directions using Microsoft Word
Directions using Microsoft Word
- Download a copy of the Cupcake Topper Template.
Use Google to search for images that relate to your party theme.
- Then copy and paste your chosen images onto the template.
- Right click on your images and select the Text Wrapping, then the In Front of Text option.
- Reduce the size of the images to fit inside the cirlces on the template.
- Print toppers and cut them out.
- Use a gluestick to attach toothpick and colorful backing paper with a bit larger diameter.
I used this template to make cupcake toppers for my son's upcoming Mario Kart Wii birthday party - Mario Kart Wii Cupcake Toppers.

Phineas and Ferb Cupcake Toppers
Phineas and Ferb are a big hit with a lot of kids right now but it's difficult to find any party supplies in the stores. So, when my son asked for a Phineas and Ferb theme for this 7th birthday party, I had to become creative and make my own cupcake toppers. These were sent to school for his classroom party.
Supplies
Supplies
- Phineas and Ferb Clip Art
- White Card Stock
- Colored Card Stock
- Toothpicks
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
Directions
- Print colored Phineas and Ferb clip art on white card stock.
- Cut out each image leaving 1/4" white border around picture.
- Place cut out image over colored card stock. Cut colored card stock enough to have 1/4" of colored border.
- Apply glue stick to back of cut out image. Sandwich the toothpick between the cut out image and the colored card stock. Rub the card stock around the toothpick to make secure.
- Let glue dry. Insert your cupcake toppers into cupcakes.
