How to Revive Dry Play-doh

Like most kids, my kids love play-doh.  So, it's the always a best bet for a birthday or Christmas gift.  So, we have tons of it.  The only problem is my kids either forget to put the play-doh back in it's container or if they do, they don't seal it.  So the tons of play-doh we have in our house is mostly dried out.

A couple of days ago the kids wanted to play with their play-doh and with one color specifically (blue).  Unfortunatley, the only blue play-doh we had was as hard as a rock.  So, my husband came to the rescue and did a search online on how to bring dried out play-doh back to life.  The answer was simply - steam!

Bring Life Back to Dry Play-doh:
  1. Boil water to create steam.  (A teapot will provide a more direct and concentrated amount of steam.)
  2. Hold the dry play-doh over the steam to add moisture but be careful not to burn yourself.
  3. Knead the play-doh on a hard surface to work the moisture throughout.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the play-doh is back to it's orginal consistency.
I wish we would have known about it sooner and that is why I'm sharing it with you.  Thanks to my hubby for a great quick tip!
